Arlene Salomon began her formal education at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Settling on Maui, she worked as an exhibiting artist and went on to study Horticulture at University of Hawaii Maui College, eventually becoming a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture. 
She owned and operated a tree consulting business specializing in native plants, winning her an award from the Maui Invasive Species Committee. For fifteen years she designed sustainable landscapes and assisted in local conservation efforts at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens, Fleming Arboretum, Nature Conservancy and Auwahi Forest Restoration Project, to name a few.
Arlene is currently pursuing her master's degree in Interior Architecture & Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and doing a historic preservation internship with the Historic Hawaii Foundation and has achieved Living Future Accreditation, demonstrating expertise in advanced sustainability and regenerative design.
